Chair's Welcome

As the Chair I would like to welcome to the Department of Nursing at the College of Health Sciences which has 3 programs: BSN, RN- BSN and a Masters in Adult Critical Care.  We are moving to develop a PhD program. The Department of Nursing is a pioneer in the field of nursing education since 1999.

Nursing is a deeply rewarding profession and   your time will be filled with inspiring and challenging opportunities over the years. Students are central to our mission and enhancing the student experience is pivotal to our success. Since the COVID 19 pandemic our student enrollment has increased, and we stand tall at 556 students with 30% being male students in our programs.

We prepare our BSN graduates for beginning bedside practice and leadership in nursing while our Masters in Adult critical care provides opportunities for advanced clinical practice. We are incredibly proud of our graduates who occupy key positions in EHS, DHA and SEHA.

Our faculty are outstanding educators from internationally renowned universities and deliver a robust curriculum with innovation in the classroom.  Additionally, our faculty are known nationally and internationally for their research expertise in maternal and child, pediatrics, cardiac, health promotion, mental health, mentorship, preceptorship, simulation and learning pedagogies. Our clinical tutors are exceptionally skilled and provide a rich clinical experience  for  our students.

Best wishes to each of you and make the most of your experience at UOS.
