I see successful teaching (I prefer successful teaching instead of teaching) involves a mutual relationship between teachers and students. I believe that teachers have responsibilities to their students, other than reading lecture materials before going to classroom; as teachers we must make learning process easier, create the environment that encourages learning, provide a knowledge that will help our students be successful in achieving their lives' and careers’ goals, and help in becoming and remaining motivated to be successful in their studies and in applying their knowledge to solve problems in their lives. On the other hand, students have responsibilities to their teachers. I believe that these responsibilities backing me in fulfilling my duties to students. I believe that it is the students' responsibility to be supportive of the teacher and fellow students by prepared for class, willing to work hard to complete course activities, willing to bring their life experiences into the class to enrich discussions, and willing to try to apply what they learn in class to solve the problems they face on their jobs and in their lives. Interaction with students inside and outside the classroom is integral to the learning process. I have an open door policy, and I encourage students to visit when they have a chance, and discuss matters pertinent to the course and their undergraduate or graduate career.
