Dr.Asem Moh'd Mofaleh Obeidat Interior Architecture & Design Program Coordinator Academic RankAssociate Professor


  • Dr. Obeidat earned a PhD in environmental design with a specialization in interior design from Texas Tech University, USA (2008). Early graduate work (MFA degree in interior design, 1996) with a thesis project (department store) from Academy of Art University, USA, and a BFA degree in interior design from Yarmouk University, Jordan in 1990.

Research Interests:

  • Dr. Obeidat is dedicated to an interdisciplinary research approach; research interests include a wide range of design related issues including environmental design, designing for elderly people particularly impaired with Alzheimer's disease, design education, distance education for interior design, learning environments.


Dr. Obeidat worked as an instructor of interior design (1997-2003) in the College of Fine Arts at Yarmouk University, Jordan. An assistant professor of interior design (2008-2013) in the college of Fine Arts at Yarmouk University, Jordan. Promoted to an associate professor of interior design in 2013. During his work at Yarmouk University, Dr. Obeidat served as an assistant dean of the College of Fine Arts (2009-2010), and the Chairperson of the Department of Design in the period of 2010-2015.
