I believe that providing a clear and systematic roadmap for students in the form of a detailed syllabus, definite tasks, straightforward evaluation criteria, and timely and constructive criticism builds trust and motivates excellence. Furthermore, because effective teaching rests on technical proficiency, I believe that focused instructions and assignments are effective tools that develop core concepts and technical skills, and meanwhile help students to gain confidence in basic knowledge and research methods. I always try to develop a constructive learning environment and do my best to emphasize self-directed techniques in teaching activities (e.g., case studies and projects) to provide students with the opportunity to synthesize what they have learned in the context of their own curiosities and to emphasize the essence and fundamentals of the subjects. I believe that assisting students in discovering and encouraging them to follow their interests will definitely enable them to find their own paths. It is also important to review important concepts at the beginning of every class and sum up the key points for every session to ensure a coherent and systematic flow of the course.
