  • My research area is in reliability and maintenance of engineering assets with the objective of continuously improving both efficiency and effectiveness of resources. My research interests include reliability, quality and maintenance engineering, Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean Production, productivity improvement, performance measurement, life cycle cost analysis, Innovation Management, and optimization. I have developed and taught more than 25 post and undergrad courses covering a wide range of IEEM fields. I delivered training courses in Kaizen, TQM, and organizational excellence for the UoS employees and other governmental organizations such as Dubai police-residency and foreigners affairs.

The aim of the LoI is promote academic cooperation, mutual understanding, and friendly relationship which will lead to signing an MOU. - Developing and arranging for signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaboration between Sharjah Municipality and University of Sharjah on the 4th of June 2017.
I believe that the role of engineering academics is to use an approach that integrates the research, teaching and application scholarships. By this approach, the researcher should be able to step back from research, looking for connections, building bridges between theory and practice, and communicate the knowledge effectively to the students. The role of the teacher is helping the students to achieve higher quality learning outcomes. This can be achieved by developing the students' capabilities and changing their conceptions using student-focused approaches where the teacher acts as a facilitator and not as a transmitter. Thus, the students can adopt deeper approaches to learning. I use Team-Based learning (TBL) method in some of the exercises of various courses. Also, I used self-learning method and research-based assignment in my teaching. For example, I asked the students to search for certain course related topics and be prepared to present them in class. Also I used project-based approach, where a task is given to the students to apply the theory learned in real life. Students are asked to do the task after being encouraged to cover a set of theory related tasks both in group and individually. This method of teaching was highly appreciated by the students
