The Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management was established in 2006 and started graduating students from 2010. It offers a B.Sc. program in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM), in addition to M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Engineering Management. The B.Sc. program offers two options which are the traditional Senior (Capstone) Design Project option, and the unique Co-op in Industry option. In Co-op in Industry option, students spend one full semester in industry and interact and solve real-life engineering problems. The M.Sc. program has two options which are coursework and research project, and coursework and M.Sc. thesis. The B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs are designed to meet the UAE and regional needs with a global vision and standards. The B.Sc. program is the first in the region to be accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) based on two criteria: Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management. Moreover, the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
