Education is a life-long process. I firmly believe education in general, and Higher Education in particular, is the catalyst for an individual’s own transformation for their own benefit and the advancement of human civilization throughout their lives. With such belief comes personal values in understanding the uniqueness of every individual human being. This personal belief and understanding is further cemented by the new SPIRIT Strategy of the University of Sharjah (2019). I cherish being a student and endeavor engaging in the process of learning and continually developing as a lecturer. I always aspire to be an educator/teacher. I aspire to bring together my research and enterprise activities and feed it into my teaching in an inextricably and exciting tripartite breadth for the benefit of our students and their future career. I believe in always to be innovative in all aspect of teaching and learning; design, lecture, facilitate, supervise, assess and evaluate. Design of innovate teaching and learning, such as flipped and immersive classrooms, best be tested through real and virtual learning environments. I believe I have a moral duty to my students, my colleagues, my profession, society and myself. With such believe, understanding and vision comes a commitment for a concern for students’ development, to scholarship, to work with and learn from others, a commitment to equality of opportunity and continual reflection on professional practice. My close collaboration with the industry, especially in knowledge transfer partnerships, is vital in informing my teaching and my students’ learning experience. Such close academic-industry relationship is fundamentally important to both research advancement and the establishment of the educational needs and requirements of the industry, and society at large.
