Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at the University of Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE. The Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the first departments in the college that admitted students in the university in 1997. Over the years the Department of Electrical Engineering has established a reputation for excellence in teaching, research and community service.

The department continues to attract and hire outstanding diverse faculty members in critically important fields in electrical engineering. We are continually improving our laboratories with the latest technology and curriculum to meet the industry demand. We are working on developing better relationships with national and international universities and industries.

Most of our undergraduate courses have laboratory components where the students are exposed to experimental learning. Our faculty and students conduct cutting-edge research in key areas of electrical and computer engineering fields. The work of the faculty and the students is regularly published in the most top and prestigious international journals and conference proceedings.

The EE Department offers an undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering in addition to, Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The department has also launched a new Ph.D. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering starting from fall 18-19. All programs are accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR).

The undergraduate program is also accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.

I welcome you to explore the wide range of exciting educational and research opportunities offered by the Department and described in more detail elsewhere on its website.
