The Oral Surgery Specialist Clinic provides treatments beyond the level of the students, including:
- Surgical removal of impacted/ erupted teeth
- Surgical removal of pathologic lesions
- Dental implants
- Laser esthetic treatment
- Management of Temporomandibular joint disorders
- Management of advanced odontogenic infections.
These are performed by a Specialist in Oral Surgery, and observed and assisted by students.
Patients are admitted only after receiving initial dental screening and treatment by year 4, year 5 students or the interns. Referral from outside the Hospital can be accepted but you need to register in person at the Hospital and receive dental screening at the Admission Clinic.
Cost of treatment
Treatment is free for patients registered in the Hospital, unless some materials are required for the surgery (such as implant, bone grafts), in which case the patient will cover the materials cost.
During term-time (September-June) only.
The clinic is not operational on public holidays and during summer (July and August).
