Research Interests:
His current research interests are centred around Explanable AI for Cyber Security, Security and Privacy in Internet-of-Things, Cloud Security, Imaging for Forensics and Security, Security related Multimedia Content Analysis, Big Data in Cyber Security, Homeland Security, Security Issues in Healthcare Systems, Biometrics, Image and Video Analysis.

Education
PhD, MSc and BSc in Computer Engineering, SMIEEE, FHEA Fatih Kurugollu obtained BSc and MSc in Computer and Control Engineering degree from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey, in 1989 and 1994, respectively. He was awarded a PhD degree in Computer Engineering from the same university in 2000. He was employed as a senior research fellow by the Marmara Research Centre, which is the main governmental research unit of the Turkish Scientific Research Council (TUBITAK) in 1991.
Employment History
He joined the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Queen’s University, Belfast, UK, in 2000, initially as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. In 2003, he was appointed to a Lectureship (Assistant Professor) at the same department and later on was promoted to Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Computer Science. He was appointed as a full Professor of Cyber Security at University of Derby, UK, in 2016 and became the Head of Cyber Security Research Group. He is now in the Department of Computer Science at University of Sharjah.
