Dr. Mona Al Ali Bio

Dr. Mona Al Ali
Manager, Badiri Education and Development Academy

An experienced professional in the field of education and museum studies, Dr. Mona Al Ali, was driven by her passion for empowering women and achieving excellence to take up a leadership role at the Badiri Education and Development Academy, the education and capacity-building arm of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment (NAMA).

As Manager of Badiri, Mona Al Ali oversees the execution of a range of programmes and initiatives including workshops, entrepreneurship and soft skills training, online e-learning platforms designed to enhance female entrepreneurs' theoretical and professional acumen and harness their full potential. 

Mona's vision is to act as a catalyst for Badiri's growth into a leading and easily accessible global resource center imparting knowledge, skills, and training programs geared towards empowering women and youth.

Before joining Badiri, Dr. Al Ali was a consultant for the Ministry of Defense, responsible for designing and managing research modules on military history and museum projects, and strategic planning and writing policies.

Her previous experience includes stints as Assistant Professor, Art History and Museum Studies Program at the University of Sharjah, College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Head of Musicological and Visitor Research at Sharjah Museums Department.

Mona holds a PhD. in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, and a Master's degree in Education from Auckland University, New Zealand. She has participated in several national and international professional programs such as the Sharjah Leadership Program, independent curatorship course at the University of Arts (UAL), London, and Museum Studies program at John F. Kennedy University, USA. She is also a board member of the College of Business Administration at the University of Sharjah and a regular columnist at Sail Magazine.
