Dr. Roula Maya actively participated in a dialogue session organized by the Department of Economic Development of Ajman, titled "Prospects for Economic Sustainability," as part of the Ajman Business and Competitiveness Forum.

Invited by the Department of Economic Development of Ajman and nominated by the Sustainability Office at the University of Sharjah, Dr. Roula Maya represented the university in the dialogue session focused on "Economic Sustainability." This session was a vital component of the third edition of the "Ajman Business and Competitiveness Forum," aligned with the theme of the Year of Sustainability. The forum aimed to explore strategies, practices, and challenges in the field of sustainability, fostering an integrated system of innovative solutions for a better future.

Dr. Roula Maya​ highlighted in the dialogue session that education is a pivotal tool and essential for achieving sustainable development. She emphasized disseminating science, knowledge, and innovation and developing social and applied skills. Additionally, she stressed the importance of building partnerships between national entities and fostering collaboration across governmental, private, and civil sectors and academic institutions. Dr. Roula underscored the significance of shared responsibility at every level, reaching every individual in society and prioritizing scientific research in service of communities to achieve sustainable development.

Participants expressed their interest in the presented ideas and extended their gratitude for the University of Sharjah's participation in the event, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in research fields.

His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Al Hamrani, Director of the Ajman Department of Economic Development, honored the participants for their valuable contributions to enhancing the Ajman Business and Competitiveness Forum. The session saw the attendance of participants from the Department of Economic Development of the Ajman Government, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Ministry of Economy, the Mohammed bin Rashid College of Government, representatives from the private sector, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, and Al Qasimia University.
