In collaboration with Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the University of Sharjah honours its students who obtained a tour guide license, Summer's round 2020-2021
Under the patronage and presence of HE. Prof. Hamid Al-Naimiy, the Chancellor of University of Sharjah, the Tourism Guidance Program, Department of History and Islamic Civilization, at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, organized a virtual celebration to honour the students who obtained the tourist guide license for Summer's round 2020-2021. In this round, more than 40 students have obtained the license. The license allows graduates to engage in the labour market and to practise the profession of tourism guidance in various tourist sites and destinations throughout the country.
Prof. Hamid Al-Naimiy, the Chancellor of University of Sharjah, congratulated all the students who successfully obtained the license, stressing that the University of Sharjah will continue providing all facilities and capabilities to support the students to be qualified for the labour market. Appreciation was also expressed to Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority represented by the Authority's chairman, HE. Mr. Khalid Jassim Al-Midfa, who provided all required support for students during their application process to the tourism guidance license issued by the authority.
In a speech by HE. Mr. Khalid Jassim Al-Midfa, the Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, he thanked the University of Sharjah, represented by HE. Prof. Hamid Al-Naimiy, the Chancellor of University, highlighting that the authority will continue to deepen and strengthen the partnership with the University of Sharjah in all fields, in a way that contributes to providing the tourism sector with expertise and qualified labour force capable of raising the efficiency of the tourism sector and improving its effectiveness.
HE. Prof. Hussain Al-Othman, the Dean of College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, in his speech, he thanked Prof. Hamid Al-Naimiy, the Chancellor of University for attending this celebration, and congratulated the students obtained the license, emphasizing that the College will work with all its capabilities to raise the readiness of students to join the labour market and to meet its requirements. Having licensed graduates of tourism guidance will contribute to the localization of the profession in all parts of the country, he said.
At the end of the celebration, the student, Moudhi Muhammad, gave a speech on behalf of the students obtained the license. She thanked HE. the Chancellor of the University, the chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, and all faculty members of the tourism guidance program for the encouragement and support they provide to students of tourism guidance program.
The celebration was moderated by Dr. Ali Al-Zaabi, Vice Assistant Chancellor for Branches Affairs – Kalba Branch; supervised and managed by Prof. Mesut Idriz, the Head of the Department of History and Islamic Civilization; coordinated by Dr. As'ad Aburumman, the coordinator of the Tourism Guidance Program, and Dr. Mohamed Aboushouk, the faculty member in the program.
