Welcome to the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Sharjah!
We are a vibrant group of researchers, staff and students who are enthusiastic about the study of linguistics, literature and translation. We offer a BA in English Language and Literature, an MA in Translation and a PhD in Linguistics and Translation.
Our faculty members are active researchers and teachers. They published many papers in linguistics, literature and translation. Their record in publication speaks out loudly for them.
In the Department of Foreign Languages, we are prepared to advise and counsel our English major students from their first day at the university to help them develop their awareness of the courses offered and the university regulations. Our ultimate goal is to provide our students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels with knowledge and skills they need to grow and pursue their future careers.
Our department has got the accreditation to launch a BA program in French Language Literature. Students are welcome to apply for this program in Spring 2022/2023. We also intend to launch some other BA degree programs in the future inshallah.
