GEOPHYSICS SURVEY TO HELP FINDING ARCHEOLOGICAL REMAINS THE AREA OF KHOR KALBA
During this summer, Dr. Hamdan Hamdan from the Petroleum and Remote Sensing program of the applied physics department with few of the program's students, accompanied by Engineer Hunaida Al-Khaldi from the Sharjah Institute of Heritage, completed a geophysical survey in the area of Khor Kalba. The geophysical survey employed the Ground Penetrating Radar technique to locate possible buried archeological remains within the investigated area. This survey was carried under the umbrella of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Sharjah and the Sharjah Heritage Institute in order to enhance the cooperation between both sides, and help finding the remains of the archeological wall surrounding the Khor Kalba castle.
