"The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind." -- Kahlil Gibran This is one of my favorite quotations because it expresses what I really feel about teaching through leading students to the threshold of their minds. I have enjoyed teaching Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy courses since I started my professional career path at the University of Sharjah / College of Pharmacy 6 years ago. I had the pleasure to mentor students from different levels and different years throughout the pharmacy program ranging from first year students until 5th year. Before joining the University of Sharjah officially, I have always liked tutoring students and classmates where I served as a supplemental instructor and tutor of different subjects at “Wayne State University”, College of Pharmacy and Henry Ford Community College in Michigan, USA while receiving my undergraduate studies. My objectives as a university teacher are fostering critical thinking skills, facilitating the acquisition of lifelong learning skills, helping students develop evidence-based clinical problem-solving strategies, and preparing students to function as highly skilled and competent clinicians across the scope of practice. Furthermore, my overall teaching philosophy is based on two principles, which are: active student learning strongly influences student-learning outcomes, and assessment procedures strongly influence student acquisition of knowledge.
