The University of Sharjah Medical Education Center honors Academic staff enrolled in the medical education program.

"Life and Studying in Japan"

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Sharjah in collaboration with the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai organized lectures about “Life and Study in Japan”. The event aimed to present a glimpse of life in Japan including the Japanese traditions, in addition to introduce different pharmaceutical studies, jobs, and how to apply for graduate studies of pharmacy major in Japan. The speakers were Dr. Akima Umezawa, Consul-General of Japan in Dubai, and Ms. Hanan Alaghawani, a graduate from the College of Pharmacy and currently a Ph.D. student at Japan. The event was on 17th of February 2020. The event included Origami workshops.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of NASA astronauts landing on the moon, Newsweek is spotlighting pioneers in science and technology, highlighting their very own moonshots and how they hope to change the world. 
Newsweek magazine interviewed the inventor and medical researcher Dr. Mark (Mutasem) Rawas Qalaji to ask him about his epinephrine tablet that could be revolutionary for the estimated 240 million people suffering from food allergies worldwide.
The Interview of Dr. Mark (Mutasem) Rawas Qalaji, an Associate professor and Research Group Leader at the College of Pharmacy, University of Sharjah, has been published in two pages of the November 29, 2019 issue and online (Newsweek.com).
