  • Cancer cell migration and metastasis Cell signaling in cancer cell Cancer is the second cause of death worldwide and it originates from our own body cells. The majority of cancer deaths rise from its ability to disseminate to distant body tissues. Therefore, understanding the mechanisms of how cancer cell migrate will contribute in fighting this killing disease. Deregulated proteins in signalling pathways play a crucial role in cancer progression and migration. For that reason, studying and dissecting the signalling pathways in which the deregulated proteins contribute to cancer migration will help in generating future therapeutic targets. ShcD , an adaptor protein, was found to be upregulated in invasive and metastatic melanomas; hence investigating the role of ShcD in melanoma invasion an tumourgenesis might eventually yield a mechanism by which we can overcome this cumbersome type of cancer.
