Prof. Hakam Yaseen

Prof. Hakam Yaseen is a registered as Consultant Paediatrician/Neonatology by the French & General Medical Councils (UK) and as a Consultant Neonatologist by UAE MOH. Presently: Medical Director (CMO), University Hospital Sharjah (UHS) ( JCI accredited). Senior Consultant Neonatologist/ Paediatrician, HOD of Pediatric /Neonatal University Hospital Sharjah (UHS). Member of the Hospital Board of trustees (assigned by his highness). Professor /Chairman of pediatrics at the University of Sharjah. Chairman of the Hospital steering JCI committee. Capacity on Echocardiography for neonates. Certified examiner by the the Royal College of Paediatrics (UK): number 811. Previously Editor in the Journal of Clinical Neonatology (JCN). Member in the UAE Ministry of Health evaluation and licensing Committee. Previously Program Director of Paediatric Arab Board training speciality, ministry of Health hospital. Dr. Ayman El-Hattab

Dr. Ayman El-Hattab is Consultant Clinical Genetics at University Hospital Sharjah and Associate Professor (joint) at the College of Medicine of University of Sharjah. He obtained his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology. Then he did his pediatric residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, USA. Then he joined Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA where he completed two fellowship programs: the Clinical Genetics Fellowship and the Biochemical Genetics Fellowship.
Dr. Ayman El-Hattab has three American Boards: the American Board of Pediatrics, the American Board of Clinical Genetics, and the American Board of Biochemical Genetics (Metabolic). In addition, he is Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics, member of the American Society of Human Genetics, member of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, member of the European Society of Human Genetics, member of the Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and member of the Society for Inherited Metabolic Disorders.


Dr Faisal Qureshi

Dr Faisal Qureshi is a senior pediatric specialist at Sharjah university Hospital. Dr Faisal has experience in America where he has worked for one year. Dr Faisal also has a MRCPH degree from Royal college of England and is a certified top scorer of the USMLE exams. Dr Faisal has worked in the middle east for up to 15 years and 3 years in Pakistan. He started his career in the middle east in Saudi Arabia where he worked for 4 years and moved to the united arab emirates where he worked in Mediclinic welcare Hospital Dubai for 9 years before moving to Sharjah university Hospital. Dr. Ahmed Manzoor

Dr. Ahmed Manzoor earned his medical degree from Gulbarga University, Karnataka, India and later obtained his Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bombay. He did his postgraduate (M.D) Pediatrics and later went on to obtain his membership (MRCPCH) from the prestigious Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, UK. Recently he was also awarded with the Fellowship (FRCPCH) from Royal College of Pediatrics & Child Health, UK.
Dr. Manzoor is an experienced paediatrician and neonatologist with more than 14 years of experience, capable of diagnosing and treating babies and children in both emergency and non-emergency situations. He completed his Pediatrics and Neonatology residency training from India and later worked in a tertiary level hospital in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Apart from his clinical responsibilities as paediatrician and neonatologist, Dr. Manzoor is actively involved as a member of the Continuing Medical Education Committee wherein he organizes lectures and trainings for various local and regional conferences and workshops.  Academically he is associated as an Honorary Assistant Professor of Pediatrics – College of Medicine in University of Sharjah. Dr. Manzoor has published and presented his work in various national and international forums. He is accredited and certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).


Dr. Mohamed Lotfy

Dr. Mohamed Lotfy is a pediatric and a neonatology doctor and an academic professional. Currently, he is serving as a pediatrician in University hospital of Sharjah. He is an experienced in dealing extreme preterms and post care of pediatric and neonatal surgeries. He has special interest in performing invasive procedures in pediatric and neonatal intensive care unites. His medical and academic experience spans over several countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE. He had experience as an academic tutor for medical students in Saudi Arabia and UAE.
Dr. Mohamed Lotfy is as Neonatal resuscitation program instructor and breast feeding counselor. Dr. Mohamed Lotfy has intense professional networking with scholars and scientists across the Arab world. 



Dr. Muhammad Anwar

Worked as Senior consultant and then as Head of Pediatrics Department in Al-Qassimi Hospital Sharjah. Before relocating to UAE worked as consultant pediatrician in a tertiary care teaching hospital affiliated with King Abdul-Aziz University Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During this tenure performed duties as Head of pediatric Intensive care Unit, Head of Special Care Unit and Head of Pediatirc Nephrology Unit.
Special Interest: Childhood Vaccinations, Infectious Diseases, Pediatric Critical Care.
Research in various pediatric topics including Autism prevalence in Sharjah, Incidence and causes of anemia in pediatric patients admitted in Mayo Hospital Lahore, Pakistan.


Dr Mohammed Siddig

Dr Mohammed Siddig Mekki is a paediatrician and neurologist at University Hospital of Sharjah and he currently works as assistant professor of paediatrics at UoS as well. Before he was holding a job of a clinical fellow at Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum, Sudan. He worked as paediatrics neurology consultant in various countries including Sudan, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. Dr Mekki completed his basic and paediatric training in Sudan and then obtained MRCPCH, UK. He completed his subspecialty training in paediatric neurology at University of Cape Town and Faculty of Medicine South Africa. Dr Mekki  , while he experiences his speciality as a whole, he has special interest in paediatrics epilepsies, movement disorders, acquired white diseases and childhood strokes. He is also very passionate about medical education. He contributed to his of paediatrics neurology by publishing some papers and wrote a chapter about paediatrics status epilepticus in Child Neurology Textbook.


Dr Naguib Abdel Reheim

Dr Naguib is currently a senior consultant in paediatric department in university hospital Sharjah for several years.  His scientific qualifications include a postgraduate diploma in diabetes from Leicester University, UK, Degree of Doctor in Pediatrics as well as master’s degree from Ain Sham University, Egypt, while he earned his medical degree from Cairo University, Egypt. He was exposed to structured training as well as huge number and different varieties of paediatric patients during his training in the above-mentioned universities.



Dr Syed Akbar Hussain

Dr Syed Akbar Hussain is a Senior Specialist Pediatrician and Neonatologist working with our University. He is currently working with the University Hospital, Sharjah. Having done his MD in Pediatrics from India, He has over 10 years’ experience in the field of Pediatrics and Neonatology. Before Joining University Hospital, he has worked in Various Government hospitals in the UAE, some of which are Al Qassimi Women and Children’s Hospital and Saqr Hospital as a Specialist Pediatrician. Additionally, He has also worked in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA in Clinical research trials on Vagus Nerve Stimulation therapy in Depression.
