Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah

Dr. Israa Khalid
Dr. Israa completed the MBChB (1997), and the DGO (2005) at Baghdad University Medical College in Iraq. She  also completed the MRCOG at the Royal College in the UK in 2011 and received her qualifications from the Arab Board of Medical Specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (2009). Dr. Israa is part of several committees and associations namely the International American Association of Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2010, the International Iraqi Medical Association in 2009, the EMA since 2009, the Iraqi Family Planning Association since 2005, and the Iraqi Medical Association since 2000. She also trained in Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric Emergency Treatment, Dermatology, ENT, and Surgery at Ibn Al Khateeb Hospital for Infectious Diseases (1998 – 2000). Dr. Israa worked as a General Practitioner and Obstetric GB at Saddam General Hospital in Baghdad (1998 – 2000). She then moved to Yemen where she was a Registrar Obstetric at Al Hayat Hospital and Al Mousaly Polyclinic (2000 – 2003), and a Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Al Jounhoory Teaching Hospital (2003 – 2004). Dr. Israa worked as a Specialist Registrar OBG at Behloul Specialty Hospital in Dubai (2008 – 2011), and as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Welcare Hospital in Dubai (2011 – 2012) and in SKG Hospital (2012).


Dr. Mona Zakariya
Dr. Mona Azmy completed Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery and Masters in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Al Shams University, Egypt. She has also attained Membership of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from United Kingdom (MRCOG-UK), Membership of Royal College of Physicians, Ireland (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Certificate of International Board of Lactation Consultants. Dr. Mona Azmy has over 13 years of experience in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in the Middle East. She worked as a Specialist, Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Ain Shams University Hospitals, Al Amal Specialized Hospital in Egypt and several prominent hospitals in the UAE including Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah. During this period, she gained expertise in managing all routine and emergency cases of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. In the UAE, she has been associated with both private and government sectors.


Dr. Rizmee Shireen
Dr. Rizmee Shireen graduated from medical school in India at Deccan College of Medical Sciences, which is affiliated to the University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and moved to Ireland in 2001 to pursue postgraduate education and achieved with distinction a Diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics from Trinity College Dublin in 2002. During her early years of obstetrics and gynecology residency training in Ireland, she gained expertise in various branches of the specialty including active management of labor, benign gynecology and obstetrics. Dr. Shireen had her Residency Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in various teaching hospitals under the auspices of Health Services Executive, Ireland (2003 – 2008). She was accredited as certified colposcopist by British Society of Colposcopist and Cervical Pathologists UK in 2007, and is a certified BSCCP trainer since 2014.  In continued series of achievements, she was awarded membership of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists UK (MRCOG) and Royal College of Physicians Ireland (MRCPI) in 2007. During specialist training in Ireland (2008 - 2013), Dr. Shireen consolidated on her basic training of management of labor and pregnancy and exceled in areas of management of gynecological malignancies and pelvic surgery.  In 2013, Royal College of Physicians in Ireland awarded her a certificate of completion of training (CCT). Dr. Shireen went on to do minimal access surgical fellowship in Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and St James’s Hospital in Dublin (2013 – 2015). Dr. Shireen worked as a Consultant Gynecologist at St James’s Hospital, Dublin (2015 – 2016), after which she moved to the UAE and joined the Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah Team as Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. Dr. Shireen has a special interest in general obstetrics and gynecology, active management of labor, management of gynecological malignancies and premalignant conditions of female genital tract, and laparoscopic pelvic surgery.


Dr. N. Selvakumari
Dr. N. Selvakumari completed her MBBS and DGO from Madras medical college in India in 1987 & 1991 respectively. She received her MRCOG from Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK in 1998. In addition, she also has a Diploma in Obstetric Ultrasound RCOG/RCR in UK and special skills training in IVF from Edinburgh Royal Infirmary Scotland in UK. Dr. N. Selvakumari has 20 years of experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She worked as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecology in Royal Oldham Hospital with special interest in Early Pregnancy and General Gynaecology. Dr. N. Selvakumari published an article in the British Medical Journal on Gastric cancer and pregnancy. She has presented in conferences in FOGSI & British Feto maternal medicine where she presented topics on Management of small of date babies and Management of pregnancy with Liver disease respectively.


Dr. Shama Nawaz
Dr. Shama has over 30 years’ experience in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She joined Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah in 2001. After graduation and initial training in Pakistan, she worked for 2 years in Pakistan army and then 4 years in Zayed Military Hospital, Abu Dhabi.She worked 10 years in various teaching hospitals in Ireland. She got her membership and fellowship from both UK and Ireland and completed many professional courses
