In pursue of improving exposure and patient diversity while maintaining an excellent and exceptional learning experience the College of Medicine in University of Sharjah has extended its collaborations and partnerships. Accordingly, to include a wide range of hospitals in the region of Dubai and the Northern Emirates. This decision has commenced after accepting an increase in the number of students per batch while ensuring no compromise to their educational experience. Although such collaborations are a challenge on their own to develop especially during a COVID 19 pandemic where restrictions are imposed.
The College of Medicine has meticulously chosen its partnerships to prioritize the medical students' acquired knowledge and skills within a hospital setting. All hospitals of which have specialized units within their medical and surgical departments predominantly JCI accredited as well. Al Qassimi hospital along with Al Qassimi Women and Children Hospital; the largest MOHAP facilities in Sharjah and prominent healthcare providers have been the prime facilities to train our medical students for the past many years. The strategic partnership similarly involves Rashid Hospital which is also considered the leading tertiary hospital and the main Emergency and trauma center in Dubai. Similarly, NMC-R the largest private healthcare company in the UAE operating for the past 46 years is a new addition to our network of recent university-hospital agreements. Other eminent JCI approved hospitals that have massively contributed to our students medical journey for years are Dhaid , Dubai and Latifa hospitals. In addition to, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman and Umm Al Quwain; key hospitals in their respective cities operated by GHP a specialized healthcare provided in Sweden and are centers of excellence in multiple departments such as gastroenterology, trauma, orthopedics and FMU.
A new collaboration the College of Medicine is proud of is, the American Hospital in Dubai; a top-tier private healthcare provider in the Middle East encompassing a healthcare team solely American board certified or equivalent to guarantee international medical practice and care being delivered. Zulekha Hospitals in Dubai and Sharjah recipients of the MRM award and previously honored by MediGo for excellent patient satisfaction score will surely be an outstanding setting for students to grasp a physician's approach towards their patients along with the required clinical skills they are supposed to acquire. Fakeeh University Hospital, Burjeel Hospital in Dubai and King's College Hospital are late incorporations within this hospital agreement expansion that have also greatly facilitated this move towards a better student experience.
