Dr. Aalya Mohamed
She is a consultant internal-medicine and a chief of medical services in Sheikh Khalifa general hospital-Umm AL Quwain and deputy CMO. In 2008, she completed the American board of internal medicine, USA. In 2017 became certified physician executive (CPE), USA. Thereafter she completed the master of medical management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA. She held many academic appointments as a clinical instructor in Baystate medical center in USA and member of residency training program in Dubai health authority. And currently a director of internship program for all of MOPA hospitals; she provide daily teaching to the medical students, medical interns and oversee the training program. Her time is spent between her clinical and administrative responsibilities. She is a member of several hospital major committees.
Dr. Naeem Toosy
Dr. Naeem Toosy - Emergency Medicine Consultant in Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital – Umm Al Quwain. Dr. Naeem finished MBChB (King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and got his FRCS(Ed) Fellow Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, FRCEM - CCT. Emergency Medicine University, and CEDE - Certified Emergency Department Executive - International Emergency Department Leadership Institute (Boston, USA).
He Completed Basic Surgical Training with additional experience in Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery obtaining Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and then continued CCT training in London in Emergency Medicine. Further experience in pre-hospital with Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance service. Dr. Naeem has special interest in Resuscitation, Trauma, Airway management in Emergency, Procedural sedation, Point of Care Ultrasound, Leadership.
He attended and organized innumerable courses, workshop and symposia while leading the Emergency Department at Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital-Umm Al Quwain. Dr. Toosy contributed a lot in the research field including yearly posters at Emirates Society of Emergency Medicine annual scientific conference as well as abstracts in the European Journal of Emergency Medicine on a variety of Emergency Medicine related topics.
Dr. Zuhair Afaneh
Dr. Zuhair Afaneh is a consultant Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Diabetes. He currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital (SKGH) since July 2015. A graduate of the medical school at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Dr. Zuhair completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital/ Cornell Medical Center in New York. He earned a Master of Medical Management degree at Tulane University in Louisiana, New Orleans
Dr. Zuhair is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Association for Diabetes Educators, the American Board of Medical Quality and the American College of Physician Executives and earned specialty certificate in Endocrinology and Diabetes from UK.
Dr. Zuhair has more than 20 years of clinical and administrative experience in the USA and UAE. In addition, Dr. Zuhair has academic experience, currently serves as Associate Professor at University in Sharjah and served previously in the USA as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wright State University in Ohio. Dr. Zuhair’s special clinical interest is in general endocrinology, Diabetes, thyroid disease and osteoporosis. Dr. Zuhair’s special administrative interest is in healthcare leadership, Total Quality Management (TQM) and Healthcare facility accreditation.
