Al Qassimi Hospital



Dr. Arif Al Nooryani

Dr. Arif Al Nooryani is a Professor of Cardiology at University of Sharjah, UAE, and senior consultant cardiologist at Al Qassimi hospital Sharjah, UAE. Currently, he is serving as CEO and Head of Cardiac Cath Lab at Al Qassimi Hospital Sharjah. He is also currently serving as a Member of the National Committee with the objective of reduction of mortality from cardiovascular disease on national level, under the Emirates National vision 2021. He is an experienced interventional cardiologist of superior quality, with special expertise and knowledge in complex coronary artery interventions, and coronary imaging, with a clinical and academic focus on advancing innovative therapeutics and novel diagnostics to treat and prevent cardiovascular disease. His lifetime dedication to medicine and cardiology has been recognized and awarded with Arab Doctor Award – Arab League, Healthcare Innovation Awards - Health-Tech Category, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (Hamdan Award for Honoring Individuals working in the field of Medicine & Health), and first GCC award of excellence for remarkable efforts in medicine. His cardiology and academic experience spans over several countries including USA, UK, Germany, France, and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Arif Al Nooryani is serving several European training centers, and organized more than many national and international meetings. Over the last 15 years, he has introduced more than 50 new technologies in UAE, and has been leading several international projects as principal investigator. With more than 200 presentations at national and international congresses and conferences, chairmanships, and Live demonstrations from Cath Lab, and multi-center research projects with eminent scholars and cardiologists across the world. He has been recognized as a world leader who shaped the field and guidelines for coronary interventions and myocardial revascularization. Due to his active scientific and editor’s roles, Dr. Arif Al Nooryani has intense professional networking with scholars and scientists across the Arab world, Europe and USA. His overall dedication to improving the quality of cardiology in his center and UAE, with ultimate aim to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease worldwide is authentic and tireless.


Dr. Loai Abudaqa 

Dr. Loai Abudaqa is a senior specialist of interventional cardiology at Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah, UAE since 2011 with a Master Degree in cardiovascular medicine from Cairo University, Egypt and currently involved in Ph.D. degree of Cardiovascular medicine at Cairo University, Egypt. He has good experience in non-invasive and interventional cardiology with special interest in intravascular imaging in Cath Lab and complex PCI .He got his training in Kaser Al Ainy Hospitals, Egypt and UAE. He has got fellowship in cardiac CT from European board of cardiac CT. He did and is involved in multiple national and international research and registries. He is a well-known speaker in international and local conferences. 


Dr Mark Anthony Marlon Ragoo

Dr Mark Anthony Marlon Ragoo is a experienced British trained emergency medicine consultant with specialist interests in Healthcare Information Technology (HIT), Major Trauma Care, Service Development and Training, Quality Improvement, Performance Management, and Healthcare Management. He currently serves as the clinical director of the emergency medicine departments at Al Qassimi Hospital and Al Qassimi Women and Children's Hospital. He is also the program director of the Arab Board Emergency Medicine program at Al Qassimi. Dr Ragoo completed his emergency medicine training in the Bristol region in the UK and attained fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in 2010. He has since worked in the major trauma centre at the Royal Stoke University Hospital as a consultant and trauma team leader. During this time, he has been involved in the training of medical students of Keele University. 
His qualifications include a Diploma of Medical Informatics focused in Information Technology from The University of Sheffield, Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Dundee University and Postgraduate Certificate of Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care from The University of West England. 


Dr Bakhtiari

Dr Bakhtiari is an experienced emergency medicine consultant with over 15 years of experience in this field; currently working as emergency medicine consultant in Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah. He completed his specialty training in Cambridge deanery, UK and worked as an emergency medicine consultant in London since 2012. During his career, he has acted as clinical and educational supervisor for junior doctors and residents in the department. He was also charring the local faculty meeting for 3 years. Dr Bakhtiari has over 7 years of experience is annual assessment and appraisal of doctors in all grades and has been working closely with General Medical Council, UK. Dr Bakhtiari has an interest in emergency ultrasound and has over 12 years of experience in this area. He started the level 1 emergency ultrasound course in west London, which is still on going.
Dr Bakhtiari has experience in research and published few articles in international journals during his undergraduate time. He has a good understanding of research methodology and statistics, and is keen to conduct research and quality improvement projects.


Dr. Suresh Narayanan Nair

Dr. Suresh Narayanan Nair is a senior Neurologist of about 33 years of experience in Neurology and since 2009, I am mainly working in Stroke Neurology. I have taught both undergraduates, postgraduates and post-doctoral students for the last several years in India( in medical colleges), U.A.E University in Al-Ain, Saudi Arabia and in Sharjah. I have worked in India ( Kerala), Dubai, Al-Ain, Muscat, Saudi Arabia and Canada. I underwent stroke training ( 2 years) in Sunnybrook Health Science center under University of Toronto in Canada. It is a 20 bedded stroke unit. I established the first stroke unit in U.A.E in  Al-Ain with the help of my colleagues. We are in the process of starting a stroke unit in Al-Qassimi hospital Sharjah. I was the best outgoing student in both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies. I published several research papers in International journals and  given several lectures ( all are listed in my CV).The stroke services in Al-Qassimi was awarded gold standard by the European Stroke Organization recently. My special interest is in the early thrombolysis of stroke patients. I am very much interested in making the public and Emergency team aware of the importance of time in stroke management. We also have all the pathways, standards, Key performance indicators , educational materials for the public in relation to stroke management.


Dr. Khaled

Dr. Khaled is a consultant radiologist and academic professional. Currently, he is serving as MOH consultant radiologist through UNISON Capital Investment at Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah. UAE. He is an experienced with special interest in diagnostic and therapeutic guided Ultrasound aspiration and injections. His radiologic and academic experience spans over several countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Dr. is a member of American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), Beritish Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS), Emirates Medical Association (EMA), and Egyptian Radiology Society (ERS). He is a current reviewer for the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine (JMU).


Dr. Mohamed Roshan Arakkal

Dr. Mohamed Roshan Arakkal, is a Specialist Radiologist with interest in medical education and previous Head of the Department of Radiology at Al Qassimi Hospital, the largest hospital under Ministry of Health and Prevention, United Arab Emirates. Currently he is working in Al Qassimi Hospital, Al Qassimi Women and Children Hospital and Kuwait Hospital Sharjah; at the same time pursuing his passion for business as an MBA trainee  in American University of Sharjah.
