Dr. Brian Mtemererwa
Dr. Brian Mtemererwa was qualified in Zimbabwe (1997) before moving to the United Kingdom for specialist training. His higher training was in Leicester Royal Infirmary, Northampton General Hospital, Walsall Manor Hospital and University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Brian was appointed a Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and Acute Medicine and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and Senior Clinical Examiner for the University of Birmingham Medical School, until his appointment at Al Zahra Hospital in 2016. Dr. Brian Mtemererwa has sub-specialty interest in disorders of puberty and development, fertility, reproductive endocrinology, pregnancy (antenatal) diabetes care and thyroid disorders. He also has expertise in acutely ill general medical patients and endocrine emergencies, electrolyte and bone metabolic disorders, diabetes (type 1 and 2) care including pump therapy and complications management, pituitary and adrenal gland disorders. Dr. Brian Mtemererwa is a member of the European Society for Endocrinology; British Endocrine Society; British Thyroid Association; Association of British Clinical Diabetologist; UK Resuscitation Council and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor. He has helped draw up clinical guidelines, presented at meetings, published and peer reviewed journal articles.
Dr. Nawal Ibraheem
Dr. Nawal Ibraheem has completed her primary medical qualification and gained MB.ChB from Hawler Medical University, 2006 Iraq. After her internship in the United Kingdom, she completed her (MRCP), Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2013. Dr Nawal Ibraheem also gained a specialist certificate in Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal College of physician and endocrinology, London in 2016. Dr. Nawal Ibraheem has completed her specialist training in both general internal medicine, diabetes and endocrinology and gained the certificate of completion of specialist training (CCT) from general medical Council in the United Kingdom 2018. Dr. Nawal’s work experience as specialist in Diabetes & Endocrine spans 5 years in various international hospitals in the United Kingdom namely University Hospitals of Nottingham (Queen’s Medical Centre, and City Campus), as well as in Royal Derby Hospital in the United Kingdom. Dr. Nawal has participated and attended various national and international courses as a requirement of her specialist training including BLS (Basic Life Support), ILS (Intermediate Life Support), ALS (Advanced Life Support), ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), MODY (Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young), DAFNE (Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating) this is in addition to participating in regional, national and international diabetes conferences in London, Stockholm and Liverpool and has presented posters and case reports on management of rare and difficult endocrine cases. Dr. Nawal Ibraheem formally trained and certified to teach medical students and junior doctors. This is in addition to participating in leadership and management courses in the health care system. While working and training in the UK, Dr. Nawal Ibraheem has been actively leading and participating in clinical governance and quality improvement meetings in the National Health Service hospitals.
Dr. Elias J. Sayegh
Dr. Elias finished his medical training in Damascus University and received a Diploma of Doctor in Medicine in 1991. He completed his internal medicine training in Cleveland, Ohio in the United States of America and received the American Board of Internal Medicine certificate in 1998. Dr. Elias is member of the American College of Physicians since 1999. Dr. Elias worked in General Internal Medicine in the United States of America for four years after receiving his board certification, and later moved to the UAE where he was employed for 2 years in |Al Ain before joining Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah in 2005. Dr. Elias’s expertise is in the management of inpatient and outpatient complex general internal medicine diseases, and the diagnosis and treatment of digestive and respiratory diseases.
Dr. Fadil Himood Khddyer Al Azzawi
Dr. Fadil graduated from the College of Medicine at Hawler University, Iraq (1985). He started a 4 year Training Program for the Iraqi Board (1988 – 1992) and graduated with a Degree of Iraqi Board in Medicine. In 2002, he completed the Fellowship of the Royal College of Medicine in London (MRCP). Dr. Fadil started his career as a Senior House Officer at Medical City Teaching Hospital in Baghdad College of Medicine until 1988. In 1992, Dr. Fadil was appointed as a Specialist in Internal Medicine & Cardiology at Yarmouk Teaching Hospital and as a Lecturer in the College of Medicine at Al-Mustansiyria University, Bagdad. He was later employed as a Consultant and Associated Professor at Sebha University, Libya (1995). Dr. Fadil also worked at the Ministry of Health Hospital (2000 – 2016), and was a Consultant ‘A’, Physician, and Cardiologist at Sheikh Khalifah Hospital in Ajman (2016) before joining Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah.
Dr. Kausar Perveen
Dr Kausar Perveen completed her Bachelors in Medicine & Surgery from DOW University of Health Sciences, Pakistan followed by MRCP from Royal college of Physicians United Kingdom. Dr Kausar later completed Fellowship in Internal Medicine from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Dr Kausar Perveen has vast experience of 15 years in the field of internal medicine in the Middle East and Pakistan. Dr Kausar has been in the UAE since 2012 in one of the prominent hospitals in Sharjah & Dubai. Dr Kausar has special interest in treating gastroenterology and respiratory cases.
Dr. Ram Shukla
Dr. Shukla graduated from NSCB Medical College, India and completed his Masters in Infectious Diseases at the University of London, UK. He received his DHA from the Institute of Management Studies, India, his DTM&H from the Royal College of Physicians, and DLSHTM from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, London. UK. Dr. Shukla has successfully undergone several training including NSCB at the Government Medical College, and the Safderjung Hospital, India. He also trained in the Lister Unit at Northwick Park Hospital NHS Trust, Sussex, in the Infectious Diseases Unit at the University College of London, and at St. Mary’s Hospital, NHS Trust, London UK. Dr. Shukla has worked in several prestigious hospitals namely Hindurao Hospital in India, the Dutch Hospital of the Ministry of Health in Yemen, the Ministry of Health in Dubai, Bilhoul Specialist Hospital in Dubai, and Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah, UAE.
Dr. Adel El Naggar
Dr. Adel El Naggar has completed Bachelors in Medicine & Surgery followed by Masters in Internal Medicine & Endocrinology from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He has also completed several international post graduate diabetic courses from the United Kingdom. Dr. Adel has vast experience of over 15 years in the field of Diabetology & Endocrinology in United Kingdom and Middle East. Dr. Adel has several publications/researches to his credit including the latest, “Diabetes management in cases with social-economic barriers” & “psychological aspects of management of diabetes & obesity”. He also has several memberships in ADA, EASD, AACE and National Emirates Diabetes/Endocrine Association.
Dr. Ahmed ElMansoury
Dr. Ahmed ElMansoury completed his Bachelor's in Medicine & Surgery, Master's Degree in Chest Diseases from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ain Shams, Egypt. He has also completed Interventional Bronchoscopy course from the European Respiratory Society. Dr. Ahmed ElMansoury has over 12 years of experience in the field of Pulmonology & Chest Diseases in the Middle East. He has worked as a Consultant & as an Assistant Professor in prominent Universities and Hospital in UAE and Egypt.
