Dr. Alaa Makki worked in media research in its various fields, particularly in radio, television, and traditional and digital journalism, in addition to heading several media institutions and Iraqi and Arab newspapers in Iraq, Jordan, and the UAE. He has made many contributions to research, training, and development in media skills. Dr. Alaa Makki also headed the editor-in-chief of many Iraqi and Arab newspapers, Dr. Alaa Makki worked as director of the second channel on Iraq TV, director of the second Iraqi radio station in Baghdad, Editor-in-chief of Al-Zawra weekly newspaper in Baghdad Editor-in-chief of Nabd Al-Shabab newspaper in Baghdad, Member of the opinion board in the Iraqi Ministry of Information, Managing Editor of Babel Daily newspaper, director of Al-Aqaria channel in Dubai, director of Fujairah Radio in the UAE, general manager and head of news for Al-Madar channel. Now he is the director of the Media Production Center at the College of Communication and a faculty member at the College of Communication.
