T. Serra Gorpe is a professor of communication at the University of Sharjah. She received her Ph.D. in Public Relations and Promotion from Istanbul University. She holds a master’s degree in Public Relations from Boston University, USA, and a master’s degree in Social Psychology from Bosphorus University, Turkey. She was a visiting scholar at the University of Texas at Austin in the United States in 2012. She was a professor in the Faculty of Communications at Istanbul University from 2000 to 2016, where she taught on the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Public Relations and Advertising department. She has held adjunct positions at Eastern Mediterranean University (North Cyprus), Istanbul Bilgi University, the European University of Lefke (North Cyprus), Izmir University of Economics, TC Istanbul Yeni Yuzyil University and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (UAE). Before joining the University of Sharjah, she was a professor at Zayed University College of Communication and Media Sciences teaching both undergraduate and post graduate levels. In addition to her academic career, she has extensive industry experience working both for corporations and a public relations agency.
