It is with great pleasure and pride for University of Sharjah to announce that Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat, Dean of College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) and Professor, has received the 2021 IEEE Systems Journal Best Paper Award.
This has been announced yesterday, April 18, 2021 by the Chair of the International Awards Committee and Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Systems Journal, Prof. Amir Aghdam from the University of Concordia, Canada.
According to the award regulation of IEEE Systems Journal, up to 1% of the eligible papers can be selected for the ISJ best paper award.
therefore 5 Total Papers were selected to receive Best Paper Awards.
The paper of Prof. Obaidat and his co-authors that received Best Paper Awards were among a total of 5 papers that received best paper wards in 2021.
This is considered a remarkable achievement due to the very high competition and quality of the IEEE Systems Journal which has an excellent Impact Factor.

Prof. Obaidat is the Founding Dean and Professor of College of Computing and Informatics at University of Sharjah, Fellow of IEEE and Fellow of SCS, Past President of SCS and a worldwide renowned academic/scholar/scientist/engineer, a prolific author with numerous number of citations, and a distinguished member of the University of Sharjah. He has the highest number of Scopus Publications in the University of Sharjah.
Moreover, it is worth noting that Computer Science Program in the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of Sharjah has been ranked Number 1 in UAE as per the recent ranking of TIMES for Higher Education Agency.
