The University Programming Contest is an annual programming competition organized by the Department of Computer Science of the College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) for all undergraduate students of the University of Sharjah. The event serves a great opportunity for young programmers to demonstrate and improve their programming and problem solving skills and receive generous prizes and appreciation. Participating students can choose between several programming language and coding platforms.
This year’s version of the event was organized on Sunday November 10, 2019. The contest contained a set of 10 interesting programming problems covering various fields of programming. 23 students from different colleges participated. The students competed for 5 continuous hours to solve as many problems as they can. The results of the contest were:
1st place winner: Youssef Mohammad Mansour
2nd place winner: Kamel Aladdein Kamel Samara
3rd place winner: Mark Essa Sukaiti
4th place winner: Govardan Gopakumar
5th place winner: Mohamed Gamal Abdelhady Mohamed Thabet
For the category of junior students:
1st place junior: Hassan Mohammed Saleh Samih Herzallah
2nd place junior: Mohammad Musharraf Sabahuddin Azmi.
The awards were distributed by the Dean of College of Computing and Informatics, Prof. Mohammad S. Obaidat. Award ceremony was attended by Faculty, students and Staff of CCI.
