    Overview

The UAE Meteor Monitoring Network (UAEMMN) is a pioneering project funded by the UAE Space Agency and operated by the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences & Technology (SAASST). It is designed to monitor the skies over the UAE for space debris, including both human-made objects like satellites and natural phenomena such as meteors and fireballs. The network consists of three towers, strategically located in Sharjah, Al-Yahar, and Liwa, each equipped with 17 high-sensitivity cameras that operate from sunset to sunrise, capturing detailed footage of meteoric activity. Using advanced software, the captured data is analyzed to track the trajectories of meteors, estimate possible landing locations, and determine their radiant points and orbits. The UAEMMN's mission is to establish a leading meteor monitoring system in the MENA region, contribute to the UAE Space Situational Awareness (SSA) program, and engage the public with meteor-related events. Through its efforts, the UAEMMN aims to advance meteor science, inspire public participation, and support academic research on meteors and their impact on Earth.
