Advances in single-cell isolation technologies as well as improved biochemistry offer unprecedented opportunities to profile DNA, mRNA, and proteins at a single-cell resolution. Single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) has become the method of choice for analyzing heterogeneous cell populations in cancer research, immune profiling and drug discovery. Recently, multi-omics analyses, such as multidimensional genomic and proteogenomic analyses have proven beneficial for obtaining a deeper understanding of cellular events.
This talk will start with a brief introduction of the current state of single-cell analysis, followed by detailing the steps of single-cell RNA-sequencing. It will also touch upon best practices and how-to setup state-of-the-art single-cell genome, transcriptome, and proteome analysis workflows.
We will introduce and discuss some of the latest technologies for single-cell sorting and dispensing, a new chemistry for highly sensitive scRNA-seq, as well as strategies for automation and miniaturization of single-cell (multi)omics and NGS library preparation protocols.
