Overview

The aim of the Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation group is to advance the evaluation and therapeutic intervention in musculoskeletal and neurological disorders for different target populations including athletes, people with spinal pain, and the frail elderly as well as to study the association of these disorders with metabolic biomarkers. This research group will be engaged in impactful disciplinary research and contribute to ongoing interdisciplinary research using innovative technological approaches such as computerized 3D-motion capture, force plates, electromyography, accelerometers, and near-infrared spectroscopy aiming to provide evidence-based rehabilitation care. Furthermore, this group will engage in biochemical research to study further the link between metabolic diseases and physical and neurological disorders. This research group’s goals are consistent with The WHO Rehabilitation 2030 initiative, which draws attention to the profound unmet need for rehabilitation worldwide.
