Goals and Objectives

​The group's main research objectives are:

  1. Development of novel bioinformatics tools and pipelines to identify diagnostic and prognostic early biomarkers for complex chronic diseases from high throughput genomics, transcriptomics and targeted epigenetics BIG data

  2. Deciphering the molecular pathogenesis of complex chronic diseases through the use of multi-platform OMICs followed by functional validation.

  3. Development of novel bioinformatics tools and algorithms for metagenomics investigation of human surrounding environments for better understanding of the host-pathogen interaction in disease.

  4. Development of novel bioinformatics tools and algorithms for in-silico identification of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers from publicly available OMICs databases.

  5. Molecular characterization of the role of drug targets on biological systems and pathways using pharmacogenomics applied through next generation sequencing.

  6. Molecular characterization using integrative genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics on the role of environmental factors including in the onset and development of complex chronic diseases.
