It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (RIHSS). The institute falls under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies. It aims to highlight the importance and application of humanities and social sciences in our lives, social innovation, informing human behavior, and building our societies. The main objectives of these fields of study is to counter the impact of any issues on social and family stability, and apply research findings to support the strategies of institutions.There is a serious need to provide individuals and societies with ongoing social, psychological and legal support.
RIHSS boasts a distinguished research cadre from within the institute itself and from the different colleges at the University of Sharjah. Furthermore, we have been able to partner with numerous institutes in the UAE in conducting research projects that directly informed their future strategies and programs on such areas as family and children, social and emotional intelligence, administration, business, Islamic finance, television and digital programs, and legislation all of which reflect the active role the University of Sharjah plays in community service and academic research.
RIHSS invites faculty and postgraduate students at the University to utilize our facilities, and expertise. We also welcome proposals from researchers, and institutions for any joint initiatives that effectively service humanity in general, and the Emirati society in particular and contribute to its development and prosperity.
