The Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering and the Department of Computer Engineering at the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of Sharjah organized a "Graduate Studies Students' Research Forum" to exchange ideas and research experiences, encourage positive interaction between graduate students and faculty members, and provide new students with all the information and advice they need to complete their graduate studies successfully. Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, attended the Forum along with Prof. Ahmed Al-Shama'a, Dean of the College of Engineering, and a number of faculty members from the College of Engineering and the College of Computing and Informatics, as well as graduate students.
The Forum started with a speech by Prof. Soliman Mahmoud, Chairman of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, through which he welcomed the students, and thanked the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies for their attendance and for his continuous support to the scientific research system at the University of Sharjah. He also thanked Prof. Ahmed Al-Shama'a, Dean of the College of Engineering, for his support of the Forum, and stressed the importance of exchanging ideas and research experiences between faculty members and graduate students.
Then Dr. Ali Bou Nassif, Assistant Dean of Assistant Dean of Academic Graduate Affairs, gave a presentation on the guidelines for the graduate program, followed by a presentation by Dr. Anwar El Grandel and Dr. Mohamed Saad, Coordinators of Graduate Studies for the Department of Computer Engineering, who discussed research interests of faculty in electrical and computer engineering.
Then seven graduate students presented the results of their scientific research, which won the praise of the attendees for its importance in their content and the topics with which they dealt. At the end of the Forum, Prof. Maamar Bettayeb accompanied by Prof. Soliman Mahmoud, and Prof. Ibrahim Kamel honored the students participating with their research in the Forum.
