Within the framework of the interest of the University of Sharjah in cooperating with all institutions and universities at the local and international levels, His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, received a delegation from North Carolina State University led by Mr. Timothy Rose, Director of the Global Training Initiative Program. Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, attended the meeting along with Prof. Qutayba Hamid Al Heialy, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine; Dr. Amina Al-Marzouqi, Acting Dean of the College of Health Sciences; and Dr. Tarek Merabtene, Director of the Office of International Relations. The visit aimed to discuss the common fields of interest that can be implemented by both parties, including scientific research, attracting and exchanging students.
During the visit, the Chancellor gave an introductory presentation on the University's facilities and capabilities from research centers and institutes working to provide the best programs and applied research within student groups and specialists in the fields of joint scientific research. He also mentioned the University's branches in the various cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, and the University's effective role in serving the community. This in addition to its medical complex and which is equipped with the latest advanced medical devices and technologies, and offering many courses, academic professional diplomas and joint global certificates.
The delegation concluded the visit with a tour of a number of the University's colleges, during which they also inspected laboratories and studios, then the met with a number of Deans and faculty members to discuss common issues between the two parties to develop a plan for the next stages of joint cooperation.
