The University of Sharjah's Art Studio at the Deanship of Female Students' Affairs launched the exhibition "A Painting and an Image" in its second edition, in order to give talented students an opportunity to express their artistic talents. The exhibition was opened by Prof. Elsiddig Ahmed ElMustafa El Sheikh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, accompanied by Prof. Qutayba Hamid Al Heialy, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine; Prof. Mahmoud Darabseh, Dean of Men's Student Affairs; and in the presence of Prof. Nadia M. AlHasni ,Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Design faculty and staff members of the Deanship and students.
The exhibition for the second year in a row is one of the art activities organized by the University's Art Studio throughout the academic year to encourage students to express themselves and show their artistic talents through extracurricular activities. 25 students from different colleges and specialties and talented in the fields of Drawing, photography and calligraphy participated this year.
The exhibition included 52 works of art, including 24 paintings, 8 works in the field of Arabic calligraphy, and 20 works in the field of photography. The works dealt with different artistic schools between realism and impressionism, and abstract schools. The topics embodied in the works presented varied between highlighting the UAE culture, landscapes and people in paintings and images. The students used a variety of artistic materials such as watercolors, oil paintings and pastel colors to express their talent and ideas to serve their art work.
