His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, launched the Human Genetics and Stem Cells Laboratory at the College of Sciences. This with the aim of serving the scientific research students and researchers of the University in the fields of genetics, stem cells, and genetic developments in animals. Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, attended the launch along with Prof. Nouar Tabet, Dean of the College of Sciences, and Prof. Ismail Saadoun, Head of Department of Applied Biology.

During the opening ceremony, the audience watched an introductory video about the laboratory and its facilities and equipment.
