His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, announced the establishment of four specialized hospitals in the various regions of the Emirate of Sharjah Dibba Al Hisn, Khorfakkan, Kalba, and Al Dhaid during the upcoming year. This with the aim of offering medical services for urgent cases and seniors from those regions who are incapable of coming to the University Hospital in Sharjah. It will also offer employment opportunities for the University Medical and Health Sciences Colleges' graduates.
This he announced in his word during the University's Medical and Health Sciences Colleges' Graduation Ceremony of 571 students, and in the attendance of His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
During his word, he also congratulated the graduates and their guardians who were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide medical care to the various segments of the community in the UAE. This, he continued, highlights the development of the UAE community in medical and health areas in collaboration with a number of regional and international specialized organizations and entities.
His Highness then commended the efforts of the faculty members in preparing the medical and health sciences students following advanced academic and scientific curriculums that focus on education and scientific research through using advanced laboratories that cover various medical areas. The University, the Ruler of Sharjah continued, provides the best advanced academic education environment highlighted by its Dental Hospital being awarded Qmentum Int'l Accreditation at Diamond Level.
He ended his word by urging the students to play their roles in the community by providing medical and health services to the community and to continue to advance their academic knowledge.
During his word on the occasion, His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, extended his congratulations and gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah on the graduation of the new batch of dentists, doctors, and pharmacists who have been equipped scientifically and skillfully in the best academic environment.
Graduating student Sarah Al Borazi from the College of Dental Medicine gave the graduates address extending their thanks to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his unending support to advance the scientific and academic movement in all educational fields at the University of Sharjah. She also expressed their gratitude to the faculty members for supporting and pushing them to excel academically.
The number of graduating students during this ceremony reached 571 divided into 102 from the College of Medicine, 97 from the College of Dental Medicine, 113 from the College of Pharmacy, and 259 from the College of Health Sciences.
Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Director of the office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, attended the ceremony along with Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police; H.E. Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Protocol, Transport & Traffic Department; H.E. Khamees bin Salem Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Districts and Villages Affairs Department; H.E. Abdullah Ali Al Mehyan, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority; H.E. Ali Hussein Khalifa Al Mazroua, Director General of the Financial Control Department; as well as a number of Sharjah Government entities Directors, Members of the Board of Trustees, and faculty and staff members.
