His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, inaugurated the "3rd Future Pharmacist Day" organized by the College of Pharmacy annually and with the participation of Al Ain University of Sciences and Technology and Dubai Pharmacy College. Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, attended the inauguration along with Prof. Qutayba Hamid Al Heialy, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine; Dr. Salah Taher, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs; Prof. Ayman Noureddin, Dean of theCollege of Pharmacy; Dr. Mariam Galadari, President of Emirates Medical Association Pharmacy Society; Dr. Ola Ghaleb Al Ahdab, Pharmaceutical Advisor; as well as representatives from the Drugs Division of the Dubai Health Authority, and Ministry of Health; and a number of the College Deans and faculty and staff members along with students.
Prof. Qutaybe Al Heialy welcomed the attendees and extended his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University, and the Chancellor of the University for their unceasing support for the Medical Colleges. He stressed that the aim of this exhibition is to allow students to showcase their scientific accomplishments, projects, and activities that strengthen and support the community's health. He also added that the University is working to improve the College of Pharmacy by establishing programs that support the surrounding environment and meet the needs of the students.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy also thanked His Highness for his efforts in developing teaching and scientific research methods. He also thanked the University for providing the necessary tools and services to aid the students in building their future. The exhibition, he added, focuses on discovering new knowledge, exchanging expertise, and spreading health awareness amongst students and for providing affordable health care for the community.
The 3rd Future Pharmacist Day included a number of contests and student activities such as the local universities scientific research contest, the graduation projects contest, and the scientific lectures among students contest.
