University of Sharjah Receives Academic Delegation from the People's Republic of China

His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), received a high-level academic delegation from the People's Republic of China, led by Mr. Jing Hongyang, Director General of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission. The delegation included representatives from three universities: Tianjin University of Technology, Tianjin University of Commerce, and Tianjin Chengjian University. The visit aimed to explore collaboration opportunities between Chinese universities and the University of Sharjah in various fields.

University of Sharjah Holds Introductory Meeting for New Faculty Members

His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), met with 46 new faculty members who have recently joined the University across various colleges. The introductory orientation meeting was organized by the Institute of Leadership in Higher Education (ILHE), affiliated with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The meeting was attended by the vice chancellors, college deans, directors of centers, and administrative staff.

Fifth Forum for Women in Research to Kick Off next February at University of Sharjah

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), and coinciding with Emirati Women's Day, the University of Sharjah has announced the details of the Fifth Forum for Women in Research, under the slogan “QUWA: Together Innovating to Shape the Future,” which will be held next February. The forum aims to support women in research at the local, regional, and international levels and inspire the next generation of female researchers to contribute their knowledge and skills to solving real-world research challenges.

SAASST Runs Martian Robotic Rover Workshop

University of Sharjah Launches Master of Science in Architecture (MScArch) Program

University of Sharjah Signs Cooperation Agreement with Al Dhaid University to Organize Academic and Administrative Affairs

The University of Sharjah (UoS) has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Al Dhaid. This is in accordance with Decree Law No. (1) of 2024 regarding the organization of Al Dhaid University, under Article (14) of this law, which stipulates that the University of Sharjah be assigned to take all academic, administrative, and financial measures to enable Al Dhaid University to fully operate during a transitional period not exceeding three years, starting at the beginning of the fall semester for the academic year 2024/2025 and ending at the end of the summer semester for the academic year 2026/2027. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of UoS, and Dr. Aisha Abu Shlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Al Dhaid. The signing ceremony was attended by several vice-chancellors, department heads, and administrative members from both universities.

University of Sharjah and Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation to Accelerate Digital Transformation

The University of Sharjah (UoS) has been awarded a grant by Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation (AGF) to “Accelerate Digital Transformation in Teaching and Learning at the University of Sharjah”. This grant is a continuation of the partnership between AGF and UoS, which started over three years ago through the University Consortium on Quality Online Learning (UCQOL), a program run by AGF in coordination with the Ministry of Education, involving nine leading universities in the UAE.

University of Sharjah Signs MoU with Global Studies University in Sharjah

UoS Researchers Win Khalifa Award for Education

The 17th Khalifa Award for education 2024, honored two winners from the University of Sharjah (UoS). Prof. Ali Ahmad Al-Barakat from the Department of Education, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) at the University of Sharjah, won the educational research award, whereas, Prof. Mohammad Ali Abdelkareem from the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering Department, College of Engineering, won the Distinguished University Lecturer Award at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) level.
