University of Sharjah Inter-disciplinary Bio-Medical Engineering and Social Sciences Research symposium
There are increasing demands for interdisciplinary research to tackle highly complex research questions. This led funding agencies to urge for collaborations across all fields of research to address complex scientific problems.
In order to address the increasing demand of interdisciplinary research, the University of Sharjah will be hosting an interdisciplinary, biomedical engineering and social sciences research symposium. The primary objective of this symposium is to encourage and promote understanding and collaboration between interdisciplinary researchers of different disciplines from different departments across the university.
This symposium will be an opportunity for researchers from various disciplines including engineering, sciences, social sciences, health sciences, dentistry and medicine by providing a common platform to identify research ideas and possible collaborations between the departments which may help in addressing unanswered complex research questions.
This symposium's aim is to identify potential inter-disciplinary research ideas between the areas of Engineering, Computation, Physical and Chemical Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Dentistry and Medicine. The objective is to demonstrate how multi-disciplinary research can be used to tackle and attempt to solve complex problems in engineering, sciences and medical fields.
In addition, the conference will be used to identify inter-disciplinary research ideas between the areas of Engineering, Computation, Physical and Chemical Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Dentistry and Medicine within the university. This can lead to the identification of core ideas that will form future research groups or centers of excellence as well as core research that can lead to inter-disciplinary publications in high impact journals increasing the university's rank.
