The National Programming Contest
was initiated by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Sharjah
and has been in existence since 2001. A large number of UAE universities and
colleges have participated during the past contests. Each institution may
participate with up to three teams. The contest provides an excellent
opportunity for students majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Management Information Systems, IT, and IT related subjects to show their skills
in problem solving and to meet students from other institutions. Furthermore,
this contest prepares the various UAE teams for the ACM regional and world
programming contests. The Organizing Committee for NPC 2010 is anticipating
another successful event with a wider participation of all UAE higher education
institutions.
The registration and the opening ceremony
of NPC 2010 will be held on Wednesday, March 31st, 2010. Following that, there
will be a talk by a keynote speaker and a technical session going over the
contest rules, and finally, a practice session. The actual contest will take
place on Thursday, April 1st, 2010. A lunch buffet will be provided during the
contest. There will be an award ceremony and dinner, where all participating
teams will be recognized and the winning teams will be awarded valuable prizes.
Please register online your participating
teams before the deadline, March 19th, 2010. For more information about NPC 2010
