According to recent research, there continues to be students who experience
challenges bridging secondary (high school) and university education. The small
numbers of students majoring in computing remains an issue in universities all
over the world.
Funding from Google helped funding two training workshops for high school
teachers. CS4HS is an annual grant program promoting computer science education
worldwide by connecting educators to the skills and resources they need to teach
computer science & computational thinking concepts in fun and relevant
ways. Therefore, we will focus on the following
groups in CS4HS project in 2015:
1) Advising the advisors, who are themselves seeking to learn about the
computing field and the opportunities it offers
2) Inspiring students, through presentations and interactive activities to
consider majoring in computer science and IT
