In light of the election of Sharjah as the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2014, the conference, “Food and Medicine in light of  Recent  Developments: An Islamic Law Perspective” aims at:
  1- Identifying the Shari’a concept of halal food and medicine from legal and scientific perspectives by specifying Shari’a controls and technical criteria.
  2- Highlighting the role of system of accountability in controlling the manufacture of halal food and medicine in accordance with criteria of quality health.
  3- Utilizing modern technologies to detect contaminants and prohibited substances in food and medicine.
  4- Promoting the culture of healthy and halal food and medicine.
