The rules of academic discount will be applied as per usual; for a student to be eligible for academic discount, s/he must be:

Yes, students need to pay 5000 AED advanced payment before they register in Summer and Fall semesters. In addition, students must pay their outstanding balances before they can register for any of the Fall/Summer courses.
Sibling discount is limited to one member per family regardless of the number of siblings studying at the University.
The discount will be applied to the sibling who is charged the lowest tuition fee amount.
Students are advised that UoS offers its students a maximum discount of 50% of the tuition fee per semester.
For students who left the dorms after Covid 19, 50% of the dorms fees will be reimbursed to students either as a discount for continuing students or cash refund for graduating students.

Internship/Summer Training:
You can take training (with physical presence in the company) if you fulfill the requirements of your program (e.g. number of hours) and if you have secured a company that can host you for your physical training, with the health and safety aspects being taken care of. In this case, you need to follow the authorities’ rules and regulations regarding the current COVID-19 situation.
You can take online virtual training, if you fulfill the requirements of your program (e.g. number of hours) and if you secured a company that can host you for your virtual training or your advisor, but in addition you have to be graduating this Summer 2020.
The processes are the same in terms of registration, company acceptance, number of hours and weeks needed to be completed by you, reporting in Taskstream (weekly reports, final report, company assessment). The only difference is that the training is conducted in-site (in the company premises), while the virtual training is conducted online.
All training opportunities including virtual must be approved by your Academic Advisor/Supervisor to ensure that the training is adequate and fulfills the academic requirements.
Yes, however, there are very limited training opportunities.

No, it is not a course that requires registration, it is the nature of the internship/training. You will need to contact the respective companies and enquire if they are providing any virtual internship/training in lieu of the current outbreak. In addition, please do keep contact with your potential advisor/supervisor as he/she may be able to help you in this matter.

In the same way as for regular training, i.e. using Taskstream system. The reports can be sent by email to you site supervisor to be signed and stamped, then received by email by you to be submitted in Taskstream.

We encourage you to go over the list and contact the appropriate company to secure the suitable internship/ training opportunity that suits you, keeping in mind that all training opportunities must be approved by the Academic Advisor. Excellent internet connection is needed
- The first thing you should do is ensure you are using the latest version of Lockdown browser that is available. For Windows users, this is currently version 2.0.6.03, and for Mac it is 2.0.6.01.
- To check the settings on the Windows 10 operating system level, search for camera privacy settings, and to the Mic privacy setting and enable them.
- If the above settings look correct on your computer, it's possible that another application on the computer has taken hold of your webcam or microphone, and because of this they are not available to Lockdown Browser so close all the application before launching lockdown browser.
- Anti-virus or firewall software running on your computer. Temporarily disabling these may help, but be sure to re-enable your anti-virus afterwards.

From the point of view of passing courses and graduation, it will not have an effect.
From the point of view of competing for job positions and graduate school opportunities, the answer is yes.
If you receive a low grade in one or more of your courses, you may consider using a Pass/No Pass grading system to ensure that your semester and cumulative GPA are not affected. You are advised to discuss the Pass/No Pass option with your advisor.
