People have always endeavored to learn foreign/second languages through formal education. Throughout the years, the methods and approaches utilized have changed. These methods and approaches have been influenced by the expansion in the theories and psychology of learning. Basic presumptions about why and how people learn, form the method in which languages have been taught. My teaching approach is a mélange of different approaches in language teaching. This technique in combining approaches depending on the needs of students and the nature of the lesson given to them, has lent itself successful as far as I am concerned. I believe that as a teacher, I should be flexible in introducing/following teaching approaches to cater to the different caliber of students that I teach every year. The best teachers are those who never seize to learn and continue striving to improve themselves. This is what I have gone by and will always do. What remains true, it is crucial to promote a meaningful learning environment and to apprehend how to relate our knowledge to students.
