Overview & Mission

The Center seeks to become a leading center nationally and regionally in the teaching of Arabic to non-native speakers.
Through its programs, the University of Sharjah seeks to impart knowledge within and outside of the university. The Arabic language is a tool of knowledge, a means of communication among Muslims and other friendly peoples, and a repository of the Arab Islamic heritage. Therefore, the Department of Arabic Language in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences has established a center for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers to promote the teaching of Arabic to speakers of other languages, university students and others, by introducing distinctive education that focuses on providing students with the four basic skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, and by teaching simplified grammar and spelling.
