UNIVERSITY OF SHARJAH PARTICIPATES IN AN INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR IN MEXICO

As part of activating the terms of the cooperation agreement signed between the University of Sharjah and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a delegation of faculty members and researchers from the University of Sharjah participated in the Second International Seminar of the UNESCO Chair in Science Diplomacy and Scientific Heritage. The seminar was held at UNAM over three days, under the theme "Scientific Heritage, Heritage of Nations." During the opening session of the seminar, attended by Salem Rashid Al-Owais, UAE Ambassador to Mexico,Professor Dr. Mesut Idris, Director of The Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim SciencesDirector of the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Science among Arabs and Muslims at the University of Sharjah, delivered a lecture titled "Understanding Knowledge and Wisdom in Islamic Thought." He also participated as a speaker on the second day of the seminar, presenting a research paper titled "Science, Culture, and Identity: Perspectives from the Global South."

A number of faculty members and doctoral students from the University of Sharjah presented their research papers during the seminar's activities, representing the university in a distinguished manner across various scientific sessions. Among the participants were Dr. Mohammed Ali from the College of Public Policy and Dr. Noura Nasser Al-Karbi, Head of the Department of Community Relations for Scientific Research, who participated in the third session on the second day of the seminar titled "Human Rights, Culture, and Education." Additionally, researcher Mahboubah Abdul Rahman from the College of Communication and researcher Abdelkader Ibrahim from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences participated in the hybrid session on the final day of the seminar titled "Perspectives on Science and Culture from Public Diplomacy."
