UNDER THE TITLE: “COSMOLOGY - THE IMPACT OF ARAB ASTRONOMERS ON COPERNICUS”

Under the title “Cosmology – The Impact of Arab Astronomers on Copernicus,” the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS) at the University of Sharjah, in collaboration with the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST), hosted the fourth edition of its Scholar Talk series.

The session was delivered by Prof. Mashhad Al-Allaf, Professor of History and Philosophy of Science, who shed light on the European Renaissance period and examined how the astronomical theories developed by Arab scholars were transmitted to Copernicus. He also presented key Arabic manuscripts that were later translated into Latin and played a role in shaping the development of early modern astronomy.
