SIFHAMS ORGANIZED THE 7TH INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC FORUM

Within the framework of its various scientific and research activities, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hamid Al Naimiy, the Chancellor of University of Sharjah, the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences organized the 7th international scientific forum entitled “Technical Methodology in Preparing a Doctoral Dissertation," which was attended by a large number of researchers and graduate students from the University of Sharjah and a number of local and international universities.

The forum began with a welcoming speech by Professor Dr. Mesut Idriz, Director of the Foundation, during which he provided an introductory overview of the forum's topic and its importance to researchers, noting the keenness of SIFHAMS to organize many of these scientific forums and the multiplicity of topics they address in order to achieve benefit from them. Then followed by Professor Dr. Mashhoor Al-Wardat, Professor of Astrophysics at the University's College of Science, where he addressed in his speech the procedural and organizational steps and stages related to scientific research in the humanities, social sciences, and applied sciences, and informed postgraduate students on the methods of coordinating scientific dissertations, documenting and coordinating references, and including them within texts as well as scientific sources. In addition, his focus was also on how to obtain information from its correct source, how to document it scientifically, and the mechanism of communicating with scientific journals and choosing the appropriate ones for publication. Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Mashhad Al-Allaf, Professor of History and Philosophy of Science, presented in his speech the methodological aspects of scientific research, the scientific steps for conducting the study, starting with choosing the research issue or problem, the scientific theory, how to conduct the practical experiment and draw the final results, as well as learning about comparative studies and their importance in doctoral level. The forum concluded by question and answer session by the participants, and this  witnessed a great interaction and interest by the audience.
